CES 2021 virtual this year

I'll try to post updates as they are announced, but the usual rubbing of elbows won't be happening (obviously).

Since the new Xbox & playstation have been released (sorta), most of the news is probably going to be cell phone and CPU mother-board related.  Arcade 1up will make some announcements as well.

As noted, Dark Tower 2 has been delayed until July.

But the other big push will be 8K television, as manufacturers have been dying for some replacement for 3D, which fell straight on its ass.  8K will flop too - most people still don't even have 4k, and there's almost no 4K content available (and even when it is, you need a fast, mint, internet stream to play it).

Expect lots of bitching about graphics card prices thanks to the tariffs. It's all I'm hearing about from PC buddies.

And I forgot to mention that Panasonic has said they will make an announcement of some kind at CES.  They did announce the GH5 at CES four years ago, so it's entirely possible that they at least make a pre-announcement announcement.

Canon has absolutely mollywhopped Sony with their R5/6 in the US, but oddly enough it was Olympus who did a lot of damage in Japan, despite being sold.  Olympus a long shot to announce the EM1 4, but it's possible.

Sony & Canon likely to stand pat, while Fuji will announce something, but maybe not at CES.  Canon might announce the RP 2, at least that's what seems to be the feeling from Canon fans.
