So what could be more Same Old Lions then sending the #1 pick in the draft and the 3rd string QB to injured reserve list (meaning they're done for the season) while keeping the only real asset the team has - Stafford - on the team even though he has a broken back?

Patricia tried to explain the explainable yesterday to bewildered reporters when he told them that Stafford would continue to prep for games - despite having a broken back and the Lions already being eliminated from the playoffs.

It's simply unbelievable that they are publicly saying this.

And with Hockenson hitting the IR, it's all the proof you need that the kid, if not an outright bust, is certainly not worth the #8 pick in the draft.  Indeed, Hock isn't even the best rookie tightend much less the 8th best overall player.

And even if he was, the Lions need defense, not offense, as even Matt Millen could figure out.  So, yet more proof that the organization is a clown car of fools.

Yeah....

Prolly time to stop paying attention to the Lions.

It serves no purpose.

Peak clownworld:

"Lions, coach Matt Patricia and GM Bob Quinn fined for violating NFL's injury policy

Stafford had been listed as questionable, but the team did not properly update its injury report after Friday to reflect his updated status. Reports Stafford could be inactive began to leak late Saturday night and were confirmed Sunday morning, four hours before kickoff.

After the game, Patricia noted the team wanted to keep the option open of keeping Stafford active, even though the quarterback wouldn't play.

Although unlikely, the penalty could have extended to forfeiture of draft assets. Instead, the team was docked $75,000, while Patricia and Quinn were fined $25,000 and $10,000 respectively."
