Do you know the sound of thunder?

Max tried his best to paint a nice picture, but it sounds like a disaster - horrible battery life, doesn't play friendly with Panny lenses (meaning you lose IBIS and the focus ring is wonky), no internal IBIS, no weather sealing....

...all for a picture that looks not a whole lot different then the GH5.  Which has everything this camera is missing.  Indeed, I think the skin tones look better on the Panny:

Perhaps if you had nothing - like no editing system (it comes with resolve), no lens, nothing, and had almost no money, maybe then....

But no.  GH5 still crushes it.

Kai - essentially a paid sponsor - struggles with actual use of the camera (no flip screen, covers that won't go back into place, a ridiculous form factor).

And by God, don't be out in the rain - the heat vents are massive.  And completely exposed to the elements.

He's tries to pump the idea that it has AC power.... but of course, if the battery lasted more then a half hour it wouldn't need to.  And the video again shows that the image is on par with the GH5...  which can also shoot stills.  Unlike this camera.

While people are praising the price - $1300 - but you'd have to have two pockets full of batteries to shoot for 8 hours.  Literally.

You'd also have to have dollies and stedi-cam and the like, because zero in body stabilization.  Which again means it ain't perfect for the student with no money.

Nice recent review of the mixed bag that is the "it" camera of the year, clearly supplanting the Sony A7III and Nikon 4K mirrorless offering:

Bottom line - it could be a cool camera if you treat it with oodles of love and have lots of batteries, but looks to be far too glitchy to rely on as the A camera.

Lots of new, production related, issues coming out about the cmaras, like corrupted files when the battery dies (which will be often) and weird focusing issues, apparently because the internal glass is a different spec then all other MFT mounts.

The camera notorious for shutting off for low battery even when the battery meter is at 30 or even 40 percent.

Still, at this price point some may still want to take a look at it.  Eric Nasso, a reliable reviewer, seems to dig it:

Because of all the niggles in actual production work, this is more of a student cam/first movie camera, and not something you'd take as an A-cam for a paid gig.
