I was just scrolling through and was impressed that they actually tell you WHY each was chosen. i.e. Arrow is excellent at showing how to incorporate flashbacks and Black Mirror is an excellent example of anthology writing. A nice find.

Better Call Saul might be a 5 star show. It's easily a 4. But if everything is as good as it can be (for a certain genre) don't you have to kinda give it the full endorsement?

I tend to review a movie or show based on its merits in 5 important categories, one for each star.

* Script (includes everything from dialogue to originality)
* Direction (storytelling, editing, camera angles)
* Cinematography (cool lighting, atmosphere, also art direction, sets, etc)
* Music (also audio mix)
* Acting (includes casting or miscasting)

It's a crime dramedy about a two-bit conman, but for what it is, it's the best. It seems to be one of the better shows of the past few years. Breaking Bad was more interesting (over the top) but I do not get bored watching it and always want more when it's over. The season finale was just broadcast so I'll be checking that out soon. I guess the one thing that it does have against it is that it's a prequel. We know some characters are going to survive the show.
