90% of the USA will not make it to 32 degrees tomorrow:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-weather-latest-cold-snow-temperatures-freezing-news-updates-a8138701.html

This may well be the longest cold snap since the mid '70's.... when a new ice age seemed entirely possible:

"(CNN) A massive "bombogenesis" -- an area of rapidly declining low pressure -- will wreak havoc on the Northeast this week, threatening hurricane-force winter wind gusts in a region already crippled by deadly cold.

By the end of this week, parts of the Northeast will be colder than Mars."

JFK airport just closed, stranding thousands as the east coast and deep south prepare for the blizzard of the century...

After which, more record breaking cold will swoop in.  Man, if this is global warming, I'd hate to see what global cooling looks like.  Er, I mean "phenomena".

Today it was 10 degrees in Detroit; tomorrow it will be 6 degrees.  The normal high is 32 degrees.  The low tonight will be -5; tomorrow -7.  It's been so cold for so long now that 22 degrees - the normal low temp for early January - now seems warm.

naturally this cold as Mars weather is the fault of...

....wait for it....

Global warming.  At least that's the cause accord to the guy who invented the internet, Al "I invented the internet!  Why won't you beleive me?" Gore:

http://www.climatedepot.com/2018/01/04/al-gore-bitter-cold-is-exactly-what-we-should-expect-from-the-climate-crisis/

Never mind that neither of his clap-trap movies mentioned that the natural result of a warming world would be record breaking cold and snowfall, or the fact that it makes no sense in the slightest, or the fact that at last check humanity was still 7 billion strong, who are you going to believe - your frozen eyes or the guy who worked for Bill Clinton?

Again, we're all doooooooooooooooooooomed because it's so hot out.

BTW, this was NOAA's official prediction for winter this year:

"Warmer-than-normal conditions are most likely across the southern two-thirds of the continental U.S., along the East Coast, across Hawaii and in western and northern Alaska."
------------------------------

Well, looks like little old me is more in tune with science then liberal government 'scientists'.

Huh.

On a related note, polar bears - who were predicted to be extinctified b/c of global warming - are in fact thriving.  Little wonder, given the record setting cold and snow.  But never mind all that - we obviously must raise energy taxes by 500% and stop coal production now!!!!!

'Cause, as always, we're dooooooooomed!  And science!!!!!

Related to our not extinction - ocean temps have risen a whooping .1 degree in the history of taking such temps:

"Ocean temperatures have risen only 0.1 degree Celsius over the last five decades, according to a landmark study some scientists argue could change the way researchers measure the ocean's temperature levels.

Each layer of water in the ocean has vastly different temperatures, so determining the average temperature is nearly impossible without glossing over important data. Researchers at the University of California, San Diego decided on a different model – they measured the ratio of noble gases in the atmosphere, which are in direct relation to the ocean's temperature.

"This method is a radically new way to measure change in total ocean heat," Geoscientist Jeff  Severinghaus said in a post on the Scripps website. "It takes advantage of the fact that the atmosphere is well-mixed, so a single measurement anywhere in the world can give you the answer."
----------------------------------------

Jeff might want to take out life insurance - the left doesn't take kindly to real facts.

Even Yahoo admits that no, global warming did not cause this record cold winter:

Other then a 2 day warm stretch, the record cold winter continues on as we've been, on average, 10-15 degrees below normal for the entire season.  It was zero to start the morning here; in the negatives further north

And again, it's not just the midwest - the deep south again got blasted with record snow/cold last night.  From the AP:

"Across the South, it’s snow, ice and record-breaking cold

A thin layer of snow and ice across the South closed highways, schools and government offices and sent cars sliding off the road Wednesday, while a blast of cold air broke records as far south as the Gulf Coast.

Icicles hung from a statue of jazz musicians in normally balmy New Orleans, and drivers unaccustomed to ice spun their wheels across Atlanta, which was brought to a near-standstill. The beach in Biloxi, Mississippi, got a thin coating of snow.

Icy roads hampered travel as far south as the Gulf Coast, where ice pellets covered the tops of sago palm trees. Stretches of Interstate 10 were closed in Louisiana and across Alabama’s Mobile Bay.

Downtown Atlanta was eerily quiet. Some motorists drove through red lights rather than stop and risk sliding."
----------------------------------------

Yup, nothing says global warm is a real thing like ice covered streets of Hotlanta and snow in New Orleans.

And this global warming has taken its toll: at least 10 dead due to record cold and snow:

And -  yet again - there's snow in all 50 states:
http://www.nbc15.com/content/news/Snowfall-blankets-all-50-states-469826403.html

The past 15 years has seen horrific winters, and this one is one of the worst.  We finally - hopefully - hit the average normals for this time of year tomorrow.
