Did your parents have any children that lived?

Kinda expensive to make, and you have to have some ability to connect electric wires + other construction, but the end result is a very powerful light that doesn't draw a lot of power, or generate a lot of heat:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/NFzIP_TN75A?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/NFzIP_TN75A?version=3&amp;amp;hl=en_US</a>

Even if you don't build something as complicated as this, it might give you some ideas.

A couple of notes:

- the good thing about a multi-bulb design is that if one bulb gets Brilloed, you're not out $30 and you still have some light.  The bad thing is that as bulbs switch in and out, there will be color temp changes (newer bulbs tend to have a higher CT).

- You can't use a dimmer on most florescent light bulbs - well, you can use them, but only on full power.  If you try and dim them, the ballast might blow - effectively killing your light.

- Florescent's are not as tough as "normal" bulb when it comes to rain.  A normal can get wet - just dry it off, and no prob.  If water gets into the ballast - WHAMMY - dead light.

This is brilliant. I also love how he explains color temperature, etc.

Good find!
