Well, certainly not THAT house. My 2 cents: It's a crazy industry, with even huge firms going under or not paying. Solo guys/small firms gotta fight even harder. Bottom line, it's a tough market. That said, much of the work is (potentially) possible to do from home, wherever that might be. Land/houses are a little bit like the stock market: you want to buy low/sell high, but either way it's a very long term investment - 10 years min. And of course, we already know what one sfx genius thinks on the matter - don't we?  jdv

is it just me or is this article completely insane?!!? "assume an average worker is 30 and is making 100k"?!?! maybe it's a regional thing... or maybe i'm grossly underpaid?!?! HA!

A small starter home in LA costs at least $500K so they make more money out there, but not really enough to make the high cost of living worth it.
